Food & drink
Stop by for a bite.
Delicious food, welcoming service and a picturesque setting makes The Reading Room a really special place to stop for a drink or a bite to eat.
The Reading Room
Much gardening know-how has been collected and passed down through books, and it’s this exchange of knowledge that we celebrate in The Reading Room. Decorated in heritage gardening colours, and filled with books and memorabilia, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a coffee or a tasty snack and browse the shelves for some gardening tips.
Menu
With Spring fast approaching we are excited to use the wonderful local produce this season brings us, to create our menus.
When the sun shines, you might prefer to pick up a lighter, gardener’s snack – a sandwich, toastie or a homemade sausage roll – all wrapped and ready to enjoy in The Nursery grounds.
When you wish to indulge, we have an extensive menu from a Wagyu steak burger, Shetland moules or a chicken tikka flatbread. These can be enjoyed with a glass of our selected wine, ale or Goosnargh gin with garden tonic.
Serving a selection of specialty teas and Godhead coffee, daily, with a selection of hand-baked sweet treats.
Afternoon tea can also be enjoyed Wednesday- Friday, 2-4pm. Bookings essential.
